Litter Pick 10 June 2023/General maintenance of the Reserve.

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

After having to cancel recent FODP Litterpicks due to bad weather we were graced with brilliant sunshine last Saturday for our latest scheduled Litterpick. It was attended by 5 hardy Volunteers, sun cream and hats were the order of the day. A special mention to one of the Volunteers , a very youthful looking 79 year old Margaret Bearman (pictured).

We headed to the Priory and the top of Wrightsbridge Road, we cleared a ton of rubbish there but still a lot more to do. Much of the rubbish clearing will have to wait until least autumn time when the shrubs have died back allowing access. Three large bags were cleared from the bankside of the Priory Pond, including BBQ equipment, a Deck Chair and a Toilet Seat !! Altogether 7 bags of rubbish were collected on the day !

Also a mention for the regular Volunteer Maintenance crew who earlier in the week repaired a Bench that had been badly charred by a BBQ and began the big task of watering our many newly planted trees as the hot weather sets in.

We are always looking for extra Volunteer help with our scheduled Litterpicks. Please see our Litterpick schedule posted on the Newspage of our website.

Thank You !

Belinda Bearman
